where creativity becomes connection
3. 2026
Today feels like the kind of day that can’t quite decide what season it belongs to.
The calendar insists it’s summer, but outside my window everything is gray. The sky is one solid sheet of clouds, the kind that flatten the world a little. Nothing dramatic. No storm. No sunshine. Just a quiet, overcast day asking nothing of anyone.
I used to think days like this were placeholders. Something to get through until the weather improved, until plans happened, until life started moving again. Lately, I’ve been wondering if these are actually the days life is made of.
Not the milestones. Not the celebrations. Not the disasters.
Just this.
A cup of coffee gone cold because I got distracted. Laundry waiting to be folded. A text I still haven’t answered. The sound of traffic somewhere in the distance. The dog asleep on the floor.
The strange thing about being on my own is how much quieter everything has become. At first, the silence felt like something was missing. Now it feels more like a room I am slowly learning how to live inside.
There isn’t a lesson here. I wish there were.
I don’t feel transformed. I don’t feel particularly wise. Some days I still feel stuck between who I was and whoever comes next.
But I do notice things now.
The way the light changes when clouds move across the sky. The comfort of a clean kitchen. How much easier it is to hear my own thoughts when no one else is filling the space.
Maybe that’s enough for today.
Maybe not every season change arrives with fireworks. Maybe some of them slip in quietly on a gray afternoon while you’re standing at the sink, looking out the window, realizing you’ve made it further than you thought.
The sky still looks like rain.
And somehow, that feels okay.
